October's one day trip to Deep Creek

In early October we took a day trip again to Deep Creek area. We kinda followed the same plan as we did in September, but all in the same day. We headed out early in the morning.

We made our way down to Grantville area to pick up cinnamon rolls & sticky buns for breakfast. The Amish were out & about so I some pictures.

Deep Creek Lake
Picnicing at Swallows State Park.
Then we went hiking again of course!

Looking up river.
The water was so much higher than 10 days previously!
Apparently they had had a lot of rain.
Looking down river just below the main falls.
Tolliver Falls

We decided to check out the next state park down which was Herrington Manor State Park. That park was the original estate that the Garrett brothers lived on.

Later, we took the boys into the little quaint town of Oakland. This was the same place Scott & I went. We enjoyed a nice walked around town.

Scott had one of the boys take a picture of us in the gazebo near the old train station museum.

We are back at Deep Creek Lake to have dinner. We ended up getting a bucket of chicken wings & fries @ WalMart for a picnic dinner at a park by the lake. That's where this is.

I was so pleased with how this picture turned out, because the scene was so colorful!

This day came to an end much too quickly, but we covered a lot of ground.

After a very long day, we headed on home. This is a snapshot of Uniontown going down Summit hill. On a clear night, the lights look like jewels.

I LOVE your pictures-you have just the eye to know what to capture. Love the countrysides all in their splendor of fall colors and the little stores and barns etc...
