Satan hopes our horrible experiences will cause us to live in the past. No way - this pilgrim is moving forward, but I keep my experiences tucked in my backpack. It serves to warn me along the way and to be of any help to another sojourner.
Blessing is bowing down to receive the expressions of divine favor that in the inner recesses of the human heart and mind make life worth the bother.
